Known as ‘swiss lathes’ for their history in watch-making, Sliding Head Lathes allow the workpiece to move in the Z-axis while the tool remains stationary. Unlike traditional lathes, where the workpiece remains in position while the tools move around it, sliding head lathes allow for highly optimised precision and reduced process time.
Three industry-leading Tornos SwissDECO lathes make up our sliding head machinery - two 20mm machines and one 26mm machine allow us to create the highest quality sliding head manufactured pieces - from 4mm to 30mm.
