Internal Support Capabilities

Turnspeed's in-house support capabilities allow us to maintain complete control over quality, lead times, and cost without relying on external suppliers at any critical stage of the production process. From tooling design and in-house manufacture through to post-machining cleaning and surface finishing, every step is managed under one roof.

These capabilities directly underpin the performance of our CNC turning, milling, wire erosion, and plating services. They are a key reason why Turnspeed can consistently deliver precision components on time, to specification, and at competitive cost, and why our clients trust us with repeat, high-volume, and precision-critical work.

Cleanliness is critical to precision. As many of our machines operate with neat cutting oil, every component undergoes thorough post-production cleaning using our DÜRR Ecoclean and MecWash systems. These industry-leading technologies ensure parts are delivered contaminant-free and ready for immediate use in high-performance applications.

All components are cleaned to the standard required by our quality assurance processes before inspection and despatch.

Operating over 120 spindles, more than 80 hours per week, Turnspeed generates over 8 tonnes of metal swarf weekly. This byproduct is spin-dried using our automated recycling system to recover valuable cutting oil, which is then filtered to below five microns for reuse. This process not only reduces waste but also enhances environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

To support our advanced multi-spindle operations, we develop and prototype custom carbide tooling in-house. Our optical precision grinding systems allow us to produce highly accurate tools tailored to each job, helping us minimise lead times and eliminate reliance on external suppliers.

Our fully automated, lights-out 3D printing capability enables rapid prototyping of complex manufacturing and inspection tooling. By quickly producing functional prototypes and fixtures, we streamline the development process, reduce potential errors, and accelerate production timelines.

Rapid tooling produced through our 3D printing capability supports faster setup across our CNC multi-spindle machining, sliding head, and milling operations.

Our finishing department is equipped with a suite of Rosler vibration deburring and polishing machines, enabling us to deliver components with exceptional surface finishes. These systems offer both precision and cost-efficiency, ensuring that every part meets the highest aesthetic and functional standards.

Deburred and polished components can move directly into our post-production and assembly service.

Turnspeed’s in-house spark erosion capabilities provide the precision necessary to manufacture intricate tooling across a diverse range of materials. This allows for fast turnaround and absolute accuracy, even on the most challenging geometries.

We utilise a comprehensive range of CAD/CAM software to design, simulate, and generate all necessary tooling and production aids. This in-house design capability ensures we can meet even the most complex specifications with confidence, accuracy, and speed.

Our in-house CAD/CAM capability supports every machining process we operate, from multi-spindle turning to 5-axis CNC milling.
