Laser etching is a permanent, non-contact marking process that uses a focused laser beam to alter the surface of a component, producing text, logos, barcodes, data matrix codes, serial numbers, part numbers, and other identifiers with high precision and excellent repeatability.

Unlike mechanical engraving, laser etching produces no tooling wear and applies no contact pressure to the part. Unlike chemical etching, it requires no masking, acids, or post-process cleaning. The laser beam interacts directly with the substrate material, creating a permanent mark without affecting dimensional tolerances or surface finish on surrounding areas.

Laser etching can be applied to a wide range of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, brass, copper, and many engineering plastics, making it suitable for virtually any precision component that requires traceability marking or part identification.

Touch screen process visualisation provides real-time monitoring throughout the etching operation, ensuring consistent, repeatable results across every batch, whether a single prototype or a high-volume production run.
